About us

Who are Yeabridge Farm and what do we do?

Our Story.

A long time ago the farm was used to produce milk and cheese but due to changes in the
industry the farm decided to sell its herd back in the 90’s and look at other ways of farming.

You will see the beautiful, listed stone barns that were used for milking that are currently being
developed as houses to preserve them.

After that along came the potatoes and hence why there are quite a few large industrial type
buildings where the potatoes were stored from all over the South West along with a large
quantity that we grew ourselves. Sadly, due to the potato trade declining and a sharp rise in
energy costs (the potatoes were constantly kept cool once stored) the potato trade no longer
became viable for us.

We have more recently decided that although farming is hugely important to us, we needed to
make sure we had a more stable income and so the large sheds were converted and rented out
to tenants for commercial use.

We are still passionate about farming and have always had pigs on the farm. We increased this
side of the business to what you see today. We have pigs which we fatten and are
on a contract to a wholesaler.

We have a small flock of sheep which we sell at the local market and the public, once the lambs are fat enough.

We also supply our two local pubs, The Royal Oak and The Lord Nelson with tasty food!

We continue to work the land and most of the fields will be used to grow maize for local dairy
farmers.

We also have small amounts of other crops such as barley and wheat as well as grass.

The glamping site is the final piece of the puzzle, which hopefully means Yeabridge
Farm will be able to carry on for at least another 100 years with a more robust stable business!
